Nice Catch - VR-46 was the US Navy C-9B squadron at Dobbins AFB which has now moved and I think also changed aircraft. I bet a ton af DAL guys have flown with that squadron.

Scoop
VR-46 is still a Navy C-9 squadron. They moved to Navy Fort Worth about a year and a half ago, and will be decommissioned here shortly along with VR-52. VR-52 was recently moved from Willow Grove to McQuire, AFB. Moral of the story...when the Navy moves an entire squadron hundreds of miles to a new base, sometimes into a brand new hangar as well, the shutdown is around the corner! VR-61, NAS Whidbey Island, will soon be the final and last Navy C-9B squadron.

Four, actually... CRJ900, EMB-175, 737-900, and a few NEOs ought to do it.

The economy will determine the retirement schedule of the current aircraft. Many of the 757's were purchased from 96 to 01 and are not that old. The 757 is planned in the fleet to 2025.
New... or new to us?

Delta's fleet plan is not based on standardization but rather opportunism.

I did hear once that at a certain point you max out on how much you can save on a given fleet's cost and that our fleets were big enough to max out on the savings. Or so they said.

Anybody know if 737-7/8 and 737-9 will be two different categories, since the pay rates are different? Or will pilots fly all 3?

Does anyone know if the 72 hour restriction for moving reserve off days also applies to using saved payback days?

Thanks.

No, not yet...I will be, though! I just like learning about this stuff, I figure it's good to know as much as possible before actually entering the industry.
