I don't care for the political brand of whitewash used to paint over representational malfeasance. Plain and simple, the Pinnacle pilots did not abide by Section 40 of the Admin Manual. Plain and simple, our pilot group got locked out of the room.
I don't care for it either Bar. I care even less for defending the entity that performs the malfeasance as worthy of being ongoing.

This is exactly what Mr. Moak is trying to show we Delta pilots who threw out his hand-picked MEC Chairman, and elected new reps who ran on returning to a bottom-up representation union. When Mr. Moak signs the Pinnacle agreement, he will be showing these new insolent reps (and the insolent pilots they "represent") that ALPA national decides what will be in your contract...period. The only question is: Will our new reps go to the mat on this, or will they roll over? If they roll over, spending money on a local chapter of ALPA is a total waste of time and money. Because we will be completely irrelevant.

Maybe, I get what it is about this Pinnacle thing you don't like, you see it as Delta pilots are on the path to just becoming one of many suckling...

To "save money" the subsidiaries were under Delta's risk management (insurance) program. Delta's program got hit for both the Comair and the Colgan losses.

Yes. I think one makes a more satisfying picture than many.

President Moak is one of the most expert political operatives I've ever witnessed. He is the master of the fait accompli.

Our new Reps don't take office until March. There is little they can do to fix an agreement which was ratified today.

Got no idea if they can work.

Interesting analogy. When Mr. Moak signs this agreement, it will be the equivalent of the US President ignoring the US Constitution, the Congress and the Supreme Court, and writing law. Then executing that law. If that happened, the House would impeach the President and the Senate would convict and remove him. If the Congress did not remove him, it would mean we have a dictatorship and the government must be overthrown.

Years ago, I was roundly criticized here for referring to our ALPA President as "Kim Jong Moak." I called him that because I saw the beginnings of dictatorial behavior. When he signs this agreement, he will prove my point. Now, will our reps impeach him? It's doable because I'm sure FDX and UAL/CAL are mortified at what they're witnessing. If we don't/can't impeach him, we need to secede from this "union." Not overthrow it, secede from it.

The revenge of the angry red book guy comes out again. Look at your heroes at USAPA getting run over now by events a new union will not help you in your quest. Just wait until two years from now when the fences come down, you will be able to hear carl scream all the way from Florida.
