Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I called DALPA to inquire about the delayed bid results. In the course of the conversation, the duty officer said that the Company was having a hard time dealing with the age 60 rule and it's effects.
I haven't gotten there, yet. Has anyone got information on the practical effects of not being able to pair two 60 year olds?
I bet this has to affect international and augmented crews.

So would ANY union. What's your point? Or do you seriously believe that we would be able to get everything we want with no concessions whatsoever? You can't be that naive.

* 42% pay cut
* Bankruptcy Protection Letter waived
* Agreed not to fight termination of pension
* Relaxed scope to allow more outsourcing of our jobs
Those were MASSIVE, career and life altering concessions. On the ledger of give and take, we've done WAY more giving than taking. What more do you think we should be giving up??
Talk about naive...

Agreed on that 100%.
As for the Heller example, I still think the 14th is pretty clear in defending our rights, but worst case if we interpreted it your way, I'd gladly let the Chicago (and DC, etc) state/city level bans stand in exchange for eliminating all federal restrictions.

You don't think we've given up enough concessions already?

I was under the assumption that short call for you guys basically meant that you had to get to the airport in a reasonable amount of time and long call for domestic was a 12 hour call out. A few pages back it was stated that short call was a 12 hour call out. Was I misreading that? If so please explain. Thanks!
Absolutely. I am not saying that it should be an equal transaction. We should get more than we give, but to say that we should be able to negotiate a contract without ANY give is ridiculous, dangerous and stupid. We should be garnering more on our side of the ledger, but there will always be something that will be given up. EVERYTHING is negotiable. everything. Of course, we could use the DPA ideals, say no and follow the APA model. WE'll catch up to where we COULD have been in another 7 or 8 years, but if you are willing to wait, I certainly am too.
