Quick question....
Anyone who has converted to a new category lately remember how much notice you were given before officially starting training? I've seen my projected training date, but was just curious as to how early I could expect to get the official training schedule. I'd figure at least a month or so, but not sure. |

Is that their Rebel IPA? If so, I did a taste test about two weeks ago, vs. the Torpedo. I poured the two, side by side, and then sipped them, alternating one sip of each until they were gone.
The Torpedo was just a tiny bit hoppier, and it is 7.2%, vs. the Rebel IPA, which poured a shade lighter, was very good, smooth, and 6.5%. If I can't find Torpedo, I'll buy the Rebel. But if they are both on the shelf, at the same price, I'll get the Torpedo. |

So according to some I have to check my schedule by 3pm the day before I start reserve even though you can't be required to check it, you're supposed to check it.
What if the day before I am gone to the mountains til 10pm? No way to check. |

A reserve pilot will: d. be required to check his schedule via DBMS or VRU: 1) after block-in of the last flight segment of his rotation prior to his release (see Section 12 G. 13. – 14.), and 2) no later than 0200 base time on his first on-call day following a non-fly day, so as to be able to acknowledge: a) any assignment no later than three hours before a scheduled report of the rotation or start of a short call period, or b) the start of a rest period. Exception two: For purposes of Section 23 S 1. d. 2), a non-fly day will not include a day on which the pilot is on vacation. Follow the contract to the best of your understanding and within the confines of PWA language. When in doubt, call 1-800-USA-ALPA or email [email protected]. |

That is what you MUST do. Anything prior to that requirement is at your discretion. The requirements of FAR 117 are more restrictive than this and the Company is required to comply with BOTH, not disregard the PWA. The list of pilots who will be part of the group grievance (or get paid as a result of an LOA as part of negotiations) is growing.
