Default Training in May...How should I bid

I've got 18 days of training in May not including the two PTP days in front. There are 7 shadow days post training and 4 days avail pre training. Can I bid either Reserve or a trip over those shadow days? Would I actually work them or would they be dropped with pay no credit?

I usually bid Reserve in training or vacation months but with the shadow days I've heard guys bid max credit.

WSY?

Thanks.

Max credit would get you most pay. Answer to bolded would be yes.

Could just be semantics, but trips are never awarded in a shadow period, so they are never dropped. And that five day trip will be awarded to a junior bidder at the original award as though you never bid it (unless it doesn't fit into a junior bidder schedule, in which case it goes to open time).

This is important when considering pay, as you don't receive pay for days of a trip that fall outside the shadow window. For instance, a five day trip that starts on the last day of a shadow period will only yield one day of pay and not five. And that five day trip will be awarded to a junior bidder at the original award as though you never bid it (unless it doesn't fit into a junior bidder schedule, in which case it goes to open time).
This is completely incorrect. I was awarded a 5 day trip on the last day of my shadow period last August. Got paid for the entire thing. A VERY good month.

I stand happily corrected! I don't see a way to delete my post above. Mods able to wipe out my misinformation?

Anyone else getting conflicting information between the New PBS site and the Old PBS site?

For example, I search pairings on the Old site (Ex: Days off, check in time, check out time, pairing length) and I get a long list of pairings that fit that parameter. If I load the exact same criteria into the New site, I'll 2, maybe 3 or 4 pairings that are displayed. ***!?!

I had that last month when I selected avoid duty on a 5 day period. New PBS showed 3 whole trips while the old version showed pages of trips.

Standby question. There is a family senior to me that are DS on the list. My understanding is that they are DGS and some of them can travel at S3. How would I know if they are traveling at S3 or the other lower priority before they check in?

After they check in you can see what pass code they've chosen to travel on. It's the middle of the three tabs of the standby list on travel net (Listed, Checked In, Cleared)

Prior to check in you have no clue. Exact same way it works for mainline S2 priority selection.
