Sorry, don't know how to make the image work but thats a cargo CRJ.
Sounds like a good idea! Especially with wanting to ramp up cargo ops!

Oh, I don't know, would there be a market in which it would work?

Some but I am not sure that a CRJ that is dedicated to cargo would be the correct answer. You have transfer issues(Pallets from large jets to small ones, they will not fit), as well as demand issues.
As you know in the cargo world efficiencies are everything. If they would have to resort it at an interim point it could prove to be a major hindrance.

Yes, there are a lot of thoughts about. It I have been talking about it for two months.

If you think about it a 4% drop is about 8-9 seats a flight. Not horrible but not great either.
We have been toying with a 7% reduction for some time. We will see if they pull the trigger on that one.

Also of note, if they go through with this and the economy continues to tank, we may be quite over staffed. Then it will be time to worry about job losses, but even if they cut this, we may not see any.

Whats does this mean? On the memo that accompanied the AE...

June 2009
Projected Staffing Requirements
Total 6229

June 2009
Projected Staffing based on November Bid Posting
Total 6535

Is not this 300 more pilots than we need? Also, is not 6229, 1000 less than we currently have(My guess is mil leave, LT sick, and Leaves of Abesnce are in the -1000).

But will we need 300 less pilots in June 2009?

So much for some of the RD guys arguing that the Nwa side is "overstaffed". Good thing the Nwa side is about to be understaffed.

It is the projected staffing v/s min staffing. It is normal to see this.
Do not fret yet. I and other will tell you when to start biting your nails.
