ACL, you seem to be the one in the know. Any chance you can find out (ballpark) if the CVG 76 guys are bidding the ER, preferring to displace on the 76, or coming to take my job on the 73?

ACL,

So from what you're privy to know, does it sound like by each passing day, CVG 7ER may not come to fruition at the end of this AE? and they may decide to just draw down the current CVG 767 base (in next AE of course), and displace and ripple the amount of people to various bases throughout the system?

It is not looked at day by day. What they decide to do is anyone's guess. Heck they may draw down ATL but who really knows. Those decisions will be made after the AE closes and the total bidding breakdown is looked at. People change their preferences all the time prior to the close of the AE. No use getting worked up about it yet.
I changed mine today, twice in fact.
If I smell something in the wind, I will post it, or at least hint at it....

Okay, here is a rumor I want to toy with for just a moment: "Investor Day," Tuesday December 9th (1 day post SIL). Company lays out to the investors the future plan for the airline.

If that is indeed the case then it sounds like the x factor for some plans is the SIL which nobody can control for right now. So, if you're DAL you run the 777 part of the AE and if the 7ER CVG part is not ideal then you cancel it, wait and see what the SIL is and then react to it accordingly.

Anotherwords, isn't it possible DAL might just be waiting until the 9th and in the meantime we're going to hear resources plan a, b, c, d... No hiring, hiring, displacements, no displacements, etc. It makes sense, why commit either way with something as important and complex as the SIL?

Just a thought.

Makes perfect sense, and quite true. No matter what they do right now it will not effect the SLI. Maybe a negotiated one, but not an arbitrated one. I guess the are being more than safe. I would do the same thing.
Some of the stuff that is planned to be announced sometime in Dec is quite good.

I don't mean to discourage you from posting but am I the only one that finds comments such as these slightly annoying?

That is awesome you seem to have the inside track on a lot of things, am I jealous? Hellz yeah! =) The information you do share, as well as some of your speculation definitely helps us all. Unfortunately a lot of the decisions a lot of us are making or holding off on right now are being done with very little information in regards to just what is in store for the future.

I have watched you post for quite sometime and I know you don't mean to come across as saying "I know something you don't know". But it does kinda blow to hear "I know something, but I'm not going to tell you." (p.s. I understand you can't).

It's kind of like knowing someone on the team has a playbook, they continue to let you know they have the playbook, but they won't let you see it.

Definitely keep the facts and speculation coming though, hope I didn't offend you. Happy Thanksgiving!

Respectfully,

FP

I, for one, do not find ACL's comments like that annoying at all.

I do not work for either of the two merging airlines but I am effected by the things that they do in my employment so I do pay attention to what is going on.

ACL's posts are quite informative and if I were to find them annoying, I would simply ignore them.
