A lot of it has to do with the best route being selected, the Jepp plan has a infinite number of points...

Super,
you posted this yesterday morning. Sorry, I only read it tonight.
Don't think so small - we should have no less than the company contribution being reset to the 415C limit. Nothing less.

Funny thing going through training at NATCO... I asked the North Captain, "What's the big deal about the 500' call?" He asked me what I meant? Apparently, all of us South guys think it was a previous NWA callout, and all of the North guys think it was a South callout. Someone on the 4th floor has to be getting a laugh out of this.
Story floating around about the 500 call is that
it was a required crossing altitude on an old arrival into ATL.
Heard that its an automated callout on DAL-S aircraft
Heard we are spending millions of dollars to get the DAL-N aircraft automated callout changed from 1000 to 500.

FAs hated it.
Passengers hated it.
Maintenance hated it.
Using your pilot scale, it would be like a really hot stripper... fun to fly, but no one wanted to deal with all the other issues.
Hoping that it goes back to year-round service--
Can someone preposterous the DAL 777 takeoff video from the new delivery a few weeks back? I've tried finding / searching and can't find it.
Thanks
Thanks
-.5 Because it didn't have a place to dry off.
I'd HOPE doing that is like changing from crosshair FD's to the v-bar ones. My understanding the latter is a simple zero cost change. Maybe not. Who knows, I don't. I'm always having to play the "thats the E/E door... no wait, okay, thats the access door... or wait, no, no, thats the E/E door and tha... hold on... is that the lavatory access door?"

Thanks, johnso29. This was exactly what I was looking for. That makes total sense what you're saying about the SE taxi restrictions. Maybe the Airbus has issues with its external power receptacle. The CRJ 700/900 was a total pain with external power and would cut out all the time. Maybe the MCO aircraft were close to departure, though I doubt it because we were pushing back 30 minutes later and those aircraft were still at the gate.
I'm glad you're doing your part to save gas. Hopefully, oil prices stay where they're at, although I'm not holding my breath!

Pretty sure the procedure changed post-merger to always start the APU on arrival.
Personally, I like starting the APU on every arrival so we can shut down the engines and get cargo doors open etc, etc. Also good at some stations that are ETOPS 180 in all directions for departure, the earlier you find a broken APU the earlier they can try to fix it or find seats on other flights.
Side note. Some fNWA aircraft are not authorized for SE taxi for departure and have no procedure or checklist for that procedure.
