Wrong. I asked for it to be moved a week ago immediately after the DPA thread was moved. Since the DPA thread was apparently moved due to a couple of posts that requested it, and the moderators seem to keep pretty close tabs on this forum, I thought I could make my point without having to flag anything or send private messages. I have no doubt that my posts were noticed by a moderator(s). They were just blowing it off.

Well, I think that's debatable. From what I saw, the content and tone of the DPA thread did not change substantially from its beginning all the way through to the point where it was moved... and it was not substantially different from the content and tone of the ALPA/JetBlue thread. BTW, the ALPA/JetBlue thread has been going on for a full month.

Well, there are times when anger is appropriate. I would challenge you to look at all my posts and tell me how many of them are "angry and yelling" versus how many of them are rational arguments. You will find a very small percentage in the "angry and yelling" category.

And, no, I'm not perfect. But I think I have treated people with respect a lot more than I have gotten in return.

As far as keeping the pressure on DALPA... well that seems to be a lost cause. But I'm not a quitter... so don't worry.

 

When does the early out close?

Isnt the conventional wisdom that the AE will come out after the early out #s are known?

Hasnt the 330 goes east and the -er goes west been the plan since the first synergistic day?

If the big bus goes to ATL, I think I will slide into it.

 

French airplanes are SCARY! I recommend everyone stay away from the 330 if it comes to ATL. Hard to land in a crosswind, the control laws do wild unexpected things, sidestick is nearly impossible to master, and the tails fall off at random . . . .

Much safer to stick with the Boeings

I won't hold a snowballs chance in he!! of holding it in ATL, but I can try!

 

The big bus might be popular with the ER folks that want to just fly Europe and the occasional Africa instead of Fort Lauderdale. The bus does not do much (if any) domestic, does it?

 

Same goes for the 320 if it comes to ATL

Lighten up a bit, Soldiers have a long history of complaining when they feel they have been wronged. I doubt the everyday Soldier knows the details of the government contract with Delta Air Lines. These guys were just blowing off steam, considering they are returning from Afghanistan, I think we should give them the benefit of doubt. Maybe Delta could direct bill the government???

Seriously this is becoming a much bigger deal then it needs to be.

As someone said earlier, I'm sure the check is in the mail already, and the policy has been altered to follow suit.

 

DAL is getting destroyed on their FB blog. People are shouting boycott. It's so funny. This will blow over in a week or so, & people will be back on the search engines looking for the lowest fares.

 

I can see BB's point. Complaining is one thing, and I've been a champion at it... but I'm not sure I'd want to be seen complaining about a nationally known business on a public forum. I bet this has received the play it has because it's so popular to bash airlines these days.

The government SHOULD handle this stuff via direct bill... but instead they force guys to give Uncle Sam an interest free loan, to be repaid when (and if) their unit sees fit. This isn't bad on Delta, it's bad on the gov.

Every time you travel or execute a set of TAD orders, you pay out of pocket (or put it on the gov. travel card, which counts against your personal credit) and hope you get reimbursed. That policy should be an embarrassment to our government. It's funny, when I'm on a trip with Delta and check in to a hotel, and all I have to do is sign my name (and not pay out of pocket) it fees like a treat!

Shouldn't the real question here be: Why do these guys have ANYTHING to do with the financial transactions necessary to get home from a combat zone?

I can't complain too bad, but I have a number of Marine buddies who on multiple occasions were forced to fund sets of TAD orders for two and three week training evolutions... so they paid BOQ or hotel, food, etc. and were never reimbursed for lodging or per diem. Absolutely criminal.

My old man got activated for OIF in 2003. He was an Army Reserve JAG guy. He said he spent a good percentage of his time contacting service member's creditors asking them for patience, as many of the troops who had purchased plane tickets, etc. to execute orders were not getting reimbursed and could not pay their bills. UFB.
