ACL65pilot or anyone else in the know. What is the deal with NYCERB possible having 83 people on reserve for the month of june and the ALV being 82HR?????????
Does this mean anything?
If estimated and actual stay true to the last few monthes there may be more than 83 people on reserve. That is more than ATLERB when it was WILDLY over staffed in the winter.

Also. What is going on with the caravan in ATL carring pasengers?
I would like to have a picture of the passengers faces when they find out what they will be flying on. Maybe they know.

GeorgiaSkies : 877-849-4997 : Go Green!

When you go to their website, you'll swear they're trying to sell you on a bunch of college kids planting peach orchards in honor of the UGA Bulldogs... or Bulldawgs, or Bull Dawgs... or whatever they call themselves.

If you click long enough you'll also figure out they fly the grossly underpowered Cessna "ice trap" Caravans to and from ATL to both Athens GA and Macon GA for about $80 or so roundtrip.

Sounds like it will be a brilliant month for fishing...

Also mentioned this for our CP and he is very aware of it. In April they took away 4200 hours from the NYC crew and put a bunch on reserve. We will get the hours back and reserves will be adjusted to previous levels.

What happens if there is nothing labled, designated, or described as a "replacement"? The fdal pilots are entitled exclusively for 5 yrs to the 777 (no mention of any version of 777) aircraft on the property, and when aircraft come on the property, they come from long existing orders when they are "firmed up". We will be taking delivery of several next year, and so far no one from fnwa has made an argument that new 777s should be "replacements" for the (1 or 2?) pax 747-200s being retired....didn't Bloch say "replacements for these aircraft, 747 and 787? No mention of which model 747? There is no replacement for the pax 747-200, it is as simple as that, they are simply getting rid of an uneconomical asset. The same would be true, theoretically of the 747-400...why else would they get rid of them?

As for negotiating away the fences, I don't think the arbitrator's fence award is quite so sacrosanct as you make it out to be. They practically begged us to negotiate during the hearings. I would think they would be pleased to accomodate the wishes of the fdal/fnwa groups if they actually agreed on something! The fences are not quite as "crucial" as they were for the nw/rep merger. Disregard the pronouncements from "on high" of the 3 wise men for a minute and answer a common sense question: With the demise of the 747-200 and rumors of the same for the -400, and the increasing delays/uncertain status of the 787, wouldn't you be willing to lift the fences and call it "even"? Or would you like to gamble that your group will be awarded scores of already fenced 777s as replacements for both 747s and 787s? and that it will be worth the cost of disharmony and contention in the pilot group for the next 5 years?

Wiggy,

I agree with a lot of what you say. I don't think anyone has talked about the -200, it's just sad to see cargo go away as those are widebody jobs that all our young guys will probably never see again.

All I will say about your idea and why I don't think there would be an agreement about droping the fences, is take another look at the top of the list. The combined list puts lots of younger south guys above older north guys. While it happens over most of the list, it is a real problem towards the top. So, there will not be any interest of guys hoping to get on a widebody prior to the fences coming down.

I have no dog in this fight. I'm one of those mythical '95 hire north guys who moved up 3% on the combined list and all but beat DOH too.......yes I keep my mouth shut during discussions in the bar, beer mugs are hard.

Anyway, my 2 cents.........which wouldn't get you much in any store.
