Thank you DLpilot. That sounds like a VERY reasonable price for insurance. I pay over double that amount with my current employer.

I have a family of four and use the Gold HRA plan. It is $286 per month for medical and dental. The vision plan is an extra $20 a month for a family of four. The provider is United Healthcare.
Also are their multiple carriers to choose from like Blue Cross Blue Shield? Thank you. |

That plan is a high deductible plan. I have the contractual plan and pay $400 this year per month just for medical going up to $480 next year. Our medical prices are rising about 20 percent per year right now. Unfortunately, our salaries are only increasing 3 percent per year. Thanks 68 percenters. The gold plan is great if you don't use your benefits.

Do new hires have to wait 6 months before getting insurance or do they get it right from the start?

I have had the gold plan since the beginning and seem to be satisfied with it. Even after a couple of medical procedures for my family, I have never run out of HRA money. I still have $4500 left this year to roll over. Of course, I am sure that one major surgery could wipe that out.

Agree. The trend is downward coverage with upward premiums/out of pocket expenses. While that is the trend across the land., one would think we could do better during times of record profits. As Hockeypilot sagely noted, health care premiums are rising at a much higher rate than the joke of a pay "increase" 62% of us agreed to. BarryCare doesn't improve matters either, of course.
There are many reasons to apply to Delta. I don't believe their health insurance is one of them. |
