Correct. I know of a couple of guys that have gotten the invite on a Monday and a Tues. Both towards close of business EST.

Got my invite this Monday at 4:30 Eastern. Interviews are 2 months out (Mar 11th for me).

I know this is a new hire thread but . . .

I was wondering if there is a good resource to help me prepare for the Delta practical test? I am hoping one day to be able to actually participate in a thread such as this.

Thanks!

Yes. I know several names of guys hired without it. Gotta love the double standard and the slap in the face to all those who worked so hard to make the known qualifications.

Like someone said to me before "spare us the victim complex". The mainline has been using a double standard and discriminatory practices for years against regionals.

jethikoki, I got hired as a regional guy. What specific double standards and discriminatory practices are you talking about? Without specifics, your post is flame bait and sounds like the bitterness of someone who didn't get hired somewhere.

Just got the interview invite - any recommendations for hotels? Can't find any recent posts on the subject. Comfort Inn and Wellesley were mentioned years ago, but they get horrible reviews online.

Comfort Inn...Turn right, walk up the hill past the Cemetery. Manchester Arms is on the corner on the right. GREAT food, good people. Usually sim instructors hanging out putting back some VERY good beers! The smoked chop and Ribeye are amazing. AK the owner is also nice to look at - She's got that Southern accent. Good luck!

Baja.

Agreed. We shouldn't be judgmental about qualifications. A pilot who views another pilot as inferior is doing themselves and their fellow pilots a disservice.

Hilton, Courtyard and Residence Inn (free breakfast + dinner Mon-Thu). All great choices - easy walk, no shuttle.

Key point. Don't skip on breakfast. Running out of energy during the testing won't help.

Baja.

Normally I agree w/ Buzz, however Baja's good on this one. It is certainly not the Ritz, but the Comfort has a brand new mattress, micro-wave and fridge. Two floors are quietly being renovated so there are far fewer guests. W/in 50 yards are 7 restaurant choices (plus beverages as needed). Dianne the manager will personally see that you arrive at Delta on time... walking is for suckers... $56 out the door. If you are gonna splurge, try the Renaissance for $75, order room service and enjoy the view. Just some thoughts. Good luck! Cheers H

Sorry if you feel that way sir and not trying to bait just IMHO. I can sum it up by saying scope clause and "similar gage equipment". It appears the majors are legally allowed to use laws to discriminate against regionals when a major buys a regional. Due to the McCaskill Bond amendment your mainline job will be protected but any major can buy a regional and throw out all the pilots if they wish. That has happened already. It may be legal but why is that not discriminatory in nature? Not bitter, just discrimination in any from is still discrimination legal or not. Good luck to you sir and the those getting hired congrats as well.
