Default Delta TA: NEWER PILOTS!..repost from facebook

FOR ALL NEWER DELTA PILOTS!

When the dalpa TA campaign starts you wlll likely hear that this social media uproar is a normal part of the TA pre-memrat process. That this always happens and there always will be naysayers. I've been with Delta since 2000. I have never voted no on any TA. I admire this company. I respect management for what they have done with Delta. I respect my NY MEC reps who voted No, but..........................,

THE SOCIAL MEDIA REVOLT AGAINST THE TA IS NOT NORMAL!

This has never happened before. Now you must ask yourself why is this happening this time. Management has dug themselves a hole because they started the hiring wave too late to keep up with the retirement wave while the domestic economy is growing. Skilled, experienced pilots for the first time since 2001 are becoming an increasingly valued commodity. But Delta Management is trying to maintain the status quot on labor costs and has called dalpa's bluff at the negotiating table to do that. Smart guys.

On this TA, Dalpa acquiesces in quality of life (qol) issues because they want raising pay rates to fund the national ALPA machine and to retain their power structure without the risk of delay. The pay raises are ok, but they are offset by "productivity" gains which are the same as the qol hits mentioned. For a list of qol issues, read the list below and stay abreast of the bad nuggets as they continue to come in. They are significant, and will affect your career progression. long-term earnings, time off, flexibility, job vulnerability for medical, and retirement, etc. These issues are hard to negotiate back. Look at our job compared to 2000. Also see the comments from the UA pilot about losing qol issues below. Lets not give up more during time of record profits.

As a result of qol hits, ie productivity gains, on this TA it is cost neutral. Read the recent Credit Suisse article on this facebook page--this is a cost neutral contract! The market for experienced and skilled pilots is there for the taking. We just have to be brave enough to demand it.

So what will happen after we reject this TA? My opinion is dpa will get enough cards to call for an election to represent us. We will debate that issue after we defeat this TA. That will put pressure on our CEO to get us a much better deal to forestall dpa. BTW our CEO has 17.9 million delta shares and prides himself in keeping "Labor off the table." He wants labor peace to keep the share price up.

Regardless, we will continue to live with nice profit sharing raises as profits increase and the me-too clause kicks in (which would be significantly watered down if we accept this TA) and we continue to enjoy a descent contract without the concessions of the TA.

VOTE NO for your family and youself.

Ok, we non-Delta guys get it. The TA (apparently) sucks. Do ya'll have to fill APC with tons of Delta TA threads? There are way too many already.

Yes we do. Shouldn't you be on the Me3 thread defending their right to break treaties and lie?

Yeah I'm not spamming APC with drivel that could be condensed into one or two threads.

So what? Are you compelled to click them open for some reason? Feel free to ignore them. Complaining about them, in light of the fact you can simply ignore them if you choose to, is lame indeed.

What you are telling us is that you cannot choose to ignore them, ergo you have no self control and, instead, want such threads to be limited in number in order to satisfy your lack of self control and personal sense of "what should be" vs. what is.

Btw, way to put yourself in your fellow pilots shoes and show support for them. /sarc

One can only imagine your response to a post like your's if the proverbial shoe was on your foot instead of DALPAs.

That's just lame. No self control? Direct that to the guy who started 50 threads on the same topic. It's borderline spamming.

Drivel, eh?

Interesting viewpoint. Would you like to know where you can shove that viewpoint, or can you figure that out all by your onesies like a big boy?
