Default 44 Must Go!

Sent the following Council 44 recall letter in today:

Capt. HC

As a Council 44 member in good standing, I am sending you this email and attached recall letter.

This will serve as written notice to request that recalls of the following Council 44 Officers be placed on the agenda of the next Council 44 meeting:

The recall of LEC Council 44 Representative Captain HC
The recall of LEC Council 44 Representative Captain DH
The recall of LEC Council 44 Representative F/O AG
The recall of LEC Council 44 Representative F/O DN

I have cc’d the MEC as record of this request.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Capt. NW

I would suggest that we flood Council 44 with recall letters

Voted No, Now 44 Must Go!

I'm curious if the timestamp for a recall letter to LEC 44 was earlier than their Council meeting was announced. I read somewhere that could be the difference between getting the recall on the agenda or not. That announcement of the meeting came out awfully quick today, did it not? Possibly a tactful maneuver on their part?

Supposedly you can submit an item for the agenda as late as 15 days prior to meeting.

A motion to recall is always in order, on the agenda or not. A majority vote of members in good standing at the meeting is required to compel the Sec./Tres. to distribute recall ballots to the entire council.

Details in the policy manual.

Council 44 sent out their agenda 24 mins after the vote closed. That was not a coincidence. Political shenanigans right to the end. More evidence that they definitely need to go before further negotiations.

I got my recall letter out after they sent out their agenda... going to be more difficult, but doable.

Recall procedures are spelled out in the ALPA Constitution & ByLaws, not the "policy manual."

It looks like Art. III Sec. 3.D says that "Any agenda item may be introduced by a member at a regular Council meeting."

There is a separate section (Art. III Sec. 3.F) that talks about recall of local council officers.

The Council 44 meeting is Sept 28. They are obviously out of touch with those they represent, maybe because nobody ever goes to these meetings. Bid off accordingly.

I don't see anything in the ByLaws that mentions any 15 day prior requirement, but there is this:

Art. III Sec. 3.D
"Any agenda item may be introduced by a member at a regular Council meeting."

It can be introduced, but it won't be voted on until the next meeting. That's why it should be on the agenda prior to the meeting so you can have an immediate vote.

These clowns must be recalled. They cannot be allowed to stay in power through March 1, 2016. They need to be shown the door PRONTO.
