More of the same. Get them out of meetings my own union won't let me attend!

at the conclusion of the meeting everyone in attendance agreed that social media sucks. :D

...and then they went to the bar to spend our dues dollars on booze.

If they get to attend more union business than I do charge them a cover charge or dues. I think $1.5M is a good round starting number.

Read the following from chitchat, it might give you and a others a clue to the some of backstory of payrates, BK, pensions and profit sharing:

I am unfamiliar with the term "B pensions". We never gave up any pension in exchange for PS. That is a popular CHitChat saying but it is not true.

Now a question for you: Why the dramatic, ALL CAPS reference to 35% PS? And the totally bogus assertion that our union was giving it away? Just kidding, I know the answers: Your arguments are weak so you need to resort to this stuff.

PBGC opposed to letter 51 since it pushes our "B" pensions (you really never heard of that?) out the door. Notice the discussion of the note.

From MEC UPDATE 08-04

"August 6, 2008

In this MEC Update, we will discuss the Pilot Shares (equity stake) that were negotiated as part of Letter 19 and review the Profit Sharing Plan which was negotiated as part of Letter 51. While both of these items were negotiated in advance of the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement, each represents an important component of pilot compensation."

So as a you can see, the union said Letter 51 gave us PS.

The following is the LETTER 51 vote and mentions PBGC resistance to it....i.e....loss of pensions.

"June 1, 2006 Dear Fellow Pilot, Yesterday morning, at 10:00 a.m., the Letter 51 ratification ballot closed. Out of 5833 eligible pilots, 5544, or 95.1%, cast their vote. Of those, 3374, or 60.9%, voted “In Favor” of ratifying Letter 51. Yesterday afternoon, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court heard argument on Delta’s motion asking the Court to approve Letter 51 as well as the PBGC’s objection to Letter 51 ... in full. Separately, an objection to Letter 51 by DP3, originally scheduled to be heard yesterday, was withdrawn, as Delta and DP3 have reached settlement that the Court also approved. This settlement has

Therefore... wait! You like caps.

THEREFORE, AS PART OF THE LETTER 51 NEGOTIATING PROCESS, PENSIONS AND SEVERAL CONCESSIONS WERE TRADED FOR PROFIT SHARING.

You're trying to figure out why you shouldn't give up something we negotiated? Because we gave up enough the last 30 years. Don't make me send that DPA card.
