When A 777A Retires........
how many initial training events does it trigger in the waterfall?
My count 8-10. When we add the 190s 10-12. 500 retirements times an average of 6 initial training events per retirement (not every retiree is a 777A) equals 3000 initial schools in 12 months. 800 retirements X 6 = 4800 initials in 12 months. Got milk? (Sims) (instructors) Food for thought |

Got milk? (Sims) (instructors) Food for thought This is exactly why the IOE trip drop issue is huge. Sure DALPA in their infinite wisdom looked back and said "Gee, if we had it back when" it would only have affected 2% of Pilots. Even if you believe the 2% number the fact that they totally overlook the 2nd and 3rd order effects makes it dubious but more importantly looking back is meaningless. Is any Delta FO ever going bid the June 2015 month again? The question is what will June 2018 look like? June 2021? Is it any wonder the company wanted this off the table now - every month that goes by our leverage on this issue grows. Scoop |

They have to pay big time for any relief and that relief is limited to a set period of time and then snaps back.
It is not in my job description to fix what management is paid millions to break. If, however, we choose to make concessions they must be of short duration and temporary. Our execs get paid tens of millions to run the air line. Fixing their mistakes is not our problem. |

Scoop The official comments from the negotiating committee stated this would effect most FO's not 2%. |
So in June of 2021 what will the percentage be? That's the point, I believe. And yes, it affects every FO!

Of course Dalpa never said it would only effect 2% of the pilots. What they actually said in all the communications was that it would result in about 2% of the FO rotations being removed. Slight difference in the statements.

I always heard when. 777A retires an angel gets its wings. That's what I heard.

What is this mythical 777A you speak of? You may as well be talking UFOs and Unicorns. I must be related to the legendary 747A from long long ago in a galaxy far far away.
