Default Getting "Nimble" (latest from ePravda)

We can only hope that the folks that run the fuel hedging program are part of the group getting "nimbled".

Delta to reduce some management, salaried positions to remain nimbleOctober 2, 2015

Over the last week, Delta has been communicating to leaders that the airline will be reducing some salaried and management positions to improve productivity and remain nimble.
The airline said, “Delta's strong performance and ability to run the best operation in the industry have given the company great momentum. Still, as with any company focused on long-term success, we must continue to look for ways to improve productivity and stay nimble particularly given that revenue has declined this year. Over the course of the next few months, Delta will reduce some salaried positions while continuing to hire flight attendants, pilots, reservations specialists and other frontline employees.”

If they shicht-canned the entire fuel hedging department we would all have much bigger profit sharing checks!

How many Billions have they lost in the last year?

They managed to lose another $1.3 Billion in the first 2 quarters this year!

Hate to be on the receiving end of Delta getting "nimble". Looks like bean counters are starting to feed on themselves.

The weird part of all this is, the company is right now making more money than at any time in history!

So... Let's Fk with that!

Didn't give a number. Maybe just downsizing a few based on attrition or eliminating some open positions to signal WS the mgmt team is not getting complacent.

Maybe it's some dALPA committee members who no longer have the influence to make the investment in them worth while.

I think they learn in business school to occasionally toss a few overboard; the remaining tend to row faster.

An empty cubicle in your cubey-hood can be a motivator.
