We have a lot of paid for airplanes. You can park those and use them for parts. Optionality. That's our new word for the day.

Actually, the buzzword seems to be "weakness".

5% hedged 2016. Options seem to be expensive.

777s............ Huge bubble in excess WB aircraft around the world. 9-10 year old 772s around $10M. A330 lease rate 1/5 th new.

Huge opportunities in WB and presumably NB too.

No deal in the works. They get calls all the time
No deal. Prices are going to get lower so you wouldn't strike a deal now.

The press release and conference call were based on an 8K filling this morning. The 10Q has not yet been filed. This is a little unusual but they have 40 days following the close of the quarter. The numbers and color commentary can still be revised.

With that said.

Record quarter. Best ever in the industry. Profit sharing expense $563M about the same as all of 2013. No aircraft orders imminent but Q4 may have increased costs related to aircraft acquisitions. The over all tone was frustration with wall street over stock price stagnation. Equity stakes reported as costs with no realization of revenue related to ownership yet, meaning only upside on future earnings related to equity stakes. VA had a great quarter masked by fuel hedge loss.

BINGO. One might even surmise that the previous public statements about not wanting 777s was exactly because they DID want them.

He said there are only a few buyers for these kinds of planes in these numbers. Like Delta. And he dropped the price on the table. Now everyone knows the price. Like Boeing and everybody. And he said price is too high. Like a boss.

The amusing part is 772 for less than the 717s and a 3rd or 4th the list price of a CRJ900.

It's obvious they want them and they're eyeing the possibility of replacing WBs and NBs with used jets for pennies on the dollar. Could be great way to replace ER fleet. Mix 330s and 777s, but that unfortunately may cause some frequency reductions. But 350 for when you need those 350 worthy routes.

NB? Maybe used 737s and 320s, but I think they'd love to have those new 190s for used prices.
