Default MSP CP interference?

One of my MSP buddies had some interesting scuttlebut.

Apparently about a week after an individual declared his candidacy to run for the vacant S/T position, he had to call in sick. This individual is a "restoration" advocate. My buddy said he's a top-notch guy, a new generation of non-appeasers. Not the kind of guy to abuse sick leave, and certainly not the kind of guy managment would want to enter dalpa service.

He was subsequently contacted by one of the CPs and instructed to obtain "good faith" verification, with zero rationale. It's shaping up as a clear-cut case of intimidation and union interference.

It's interesting to note that the regional director behind this activity is one of the guys who was caught for tax evasion in the early 2000s--claimed he lived in another state to avoid paying taxes. It was in the papers, still comes up with a google search. Someone who is based up there might have some more details to share here.

So much for Delta's "values-driven culture." Managment is turning up the heat. Is this a coordinated effort from ATL, or just an ambitious functionary trying to make a name for himself?

Takeaway: Always bring representation if you get called to the CPO.

Airlines have ALWAYS been this way. To think some special or different culture existed in bi-directional cooperation is immature and naive.

It depends who they are!!! And if you diligently tried to recall them!
