Default VP of Operations vs company negotiator

When we get our weekly update from Capt Dickson, who is really communicating with us? Is he wearing his vp hat or negotiators hat? And am I the only one that finds this a conflict of interest ? One of our more senior pilots is negotiating against us, does this happen at American, United, or better yet in other industries?

He is a lawyer.....what do you expect? Most of these 4th floor types prefer to fly desks. Being a pilot got them the job.....they could care less to ever touch an airplane again if they didnt have to. That is how and why they work against us. They will do whatever it takes to avoid coming "back to the line".The same can be said for Moaks hand picked minions that worked along side these guys to sell us constructive engagement.

...and he's grudgingly admitted to being forced to check out in the baby 'bus, 'cuz he drew the short straw, he'd rather stay on the 75/76. ...which only happens to be the "laziest" pilot-maker in the fleet. I know, I fly it.

Maybe he should really be checked out in the Maddog, and try some 4-5 leg days, along with its BowFlex-on-a-NordicTrak flight controls.

SD is a "line pilot" working for Mgmt.

I've spoken to him 1 on 1 many times since the merger. OK guy....until just recently. I think EB has him under his thumb.

How much you wanna bet that he has a different health care package than the average line pilot?

Yeeeah....

Maybe he is hoping this time instead of management buying our negotiator a new car.... they will buy their negotiator a new car?

At some point, he should be kicked out of the union.

I submit that point was NA15.

Get him out.

When Duane Woerth was president of ALPA,representing all ALPA pilots, he was on the BOD of NWA. I always thought was a conflict of interests

You know what, I don't mind having management that's on our seniority list, or that are (inactive, non-voting) ALPA members. SD will never be a line grunt of course but many others will return or at least know they may someday. I'd much rather have management that knows they stand a good chance of having to live under the policies they help enact and enforce.

And some of our worst labor/mgt relations were when he was on the BOD.
