I remember at Coex calling whatever we called the crew planners there and I found out I was going to hold captain on the rj in Cleveland at a year and 4 months. Sweeeeet. I think. I hope. Stayed up late watching MNF and slept in the next morning only to have my phone start ringing off the hook because it was September 11th 2001. I ended that week being told I would be furloughed, even though I wasnt. But i don't take anything for granite or marble... or even cheap wood.

Im as excited now about what I see going on here as I was back then. It's awesome. I can't believe I can hold ATL88A, have a good number below me in NYC on 88 and 717 and even have people below me on 320A in nyc. That's awesome. Good for those guys. Hope it never stops. Just like I hope greenslippalooza never stops either.

Fingers crossed till they're almost broken. But fwiw I'm staying right seat for years to come. Life is good.

You're talking about LCA pairing pulls? My answers is "yes" if that's what it takes to keep staffing levels as high as possible and not dilute the bidding horsepower of those junior to that 3.8%. If you have a way to deny this good deal for a few while benefitting the greater good of everyone, I'm all ears. I don't begrudge those in a sweet spot as long as it doesn't hurt me or isn't convertible into a better deal for me.

Went from E-120 upgrade school one day to not knowing if I would have a job the next day. Ended up being the last class they didn't furlough. That was not a fun year for anyone anywhere really

Good times at Delta right now, hopefully it doesn't stop. You should go for NYC M88A so you can fly in and out of LGA this winter with a newhire......you gotta earn what Ed pays you somehow.

My FO: "Delta 1453 ready to taxi."

LGA Ground: "Delta 1453, did you call clearance?"

My FO: "No. My Captain said we're not calling."

LGA Ground: "Why not?"

My FO: "My Captain said... you want me to say that? Okay, my Captain say's #### that. We're not doing the Whitestone climb, he wants vectors and #### holding short of 4, he wants Bravo straight to 13, cleared to cross, #1 for takeoff."

LGA Ground: "Say what???"

My FO: "That's what my Captain said. He said you better ####### do it too."

LGA Ground: "Delta... uh..."

My FO: "My Captain is crying. Profusely. What do I do?"

See this is why I can't have nice stuff.

They'd write me up for babbling about the Airbus.

And when I put the 88 in reverse, I'd go from babbling to whaling.
