Lookie Here....

So Delta wants to start flying direct flights between PDX and London....and Delta also just announced that Virgin Atlantic will start flying the route, instead of Delta metal, between SEA and London

Delta Airlines To Offer Direct Flight From Portland To England In 2017 . News | OPB

I could see Delta making PDX a virtual base....have that business pick up...and end up giving that flying to Virgin. I could be wrong, but this looks like more ways we are are losing widebody flying. While United and AA fly 777-300s, and 787s....we'll still be flying 767-300ers....which ultimately the company doesn't want to replace, except maybe via Jkint Venture.

At this point, if Delta pilots fly it, that'd be the shocker.

And if DAL did fly it, they'd DH the crews in from anywhere except SEA!

There is a very good explanation of the current JV language along with Q&As in the latest C44 Roar. May help alleviate some of the heartburn felt from press releases like this.

It's also nice that the picture is of a CRJ700 taking off.

There was actually quite a bit more news with Virgin that was released at the same time as this change but omitted in the first post. Virgin will take over JFK-MAN and Delta will replace Virgin on one flight each out of DTW and ATL to LHR. We lose two flights and gain 3.

So we gain 1 flight.

Reminds me of when sailingfun used to only talk about the AE positions and never the churn.

It was omitted because the press release/article I put the link did not mention any such news...otherwise I would have included.
