SWA Will Raise The Bar
In my opinion an agreement at SWA is imminent.
No one should doubt they will use the UPS rates, pension, vacation, etc. to lead the industry. Remember their hour is 54 minutes. So add 11% to their new 737 rate and that will be our new minimum on the 737. How refreshing to see management foot dragging work in our favor. Long overdue. United--No concessions UPS--No concessions Allegiant--No concessions FedEx--No concessions Delta--? __________________ Jerry Fielding |
This is the reason I think we will have a TA sooner rather than later. I think the company would like to have an agreement before SW can raise the bar even more.

The BIG question is will our NC team insist and demand that we get an "industry leading" agreement out of management. We have already been told that management needs have been "addressed". What does this mean? Concessions?? Even if we lead in pay rates but give up work rules in the area of sick leave/LCA trip pulls/PS/vacation it will be a failure IMO... I hope my concerns are unfounded...
I look for Captain Dickson to live up to his promise. "Industry leading pay, work rules and benefits." No word games. Every pilot at Delta is smart enough to know what industry leading is. |

Given the constraints of our "re-opener" pay rates, I can't see a TA I could support unless there were significant gains in work rules, vacation, scope, and retirement.

What about a me too clause like United negotiated? If SWA doesn't have a deal first we jump to a ratio of their rates when they do if they are higher.
