Absolutely. Unused sick leave needs to go into a bank so you can use it when the big stuff comes along. Almost everyone goes out for at least a few months as they get older. Accidents, surgery, injuries, cancer, heart attacks....all of these things could last for months, if not years. I know people who have barely used their banks for many years, one major event happens, and at least they can stay on full pay for a long time to cover it. This one is worth fighting for.

Well, if the poster is correct on the sick leave part of the contract or any part that gives away even the slightest concessions. I'm NO!

I might tolerate some parts being status quo. But no sections of this contract should go backwards. Period!

If there is any truth at all to these rumors, we are in big trouble. Surely the union would not agree to crap like that?!!?

You have the negotiators/chairman running negotiating/agreeing to the agreements in principle. Now what happens if they "agree to crap like that" even though it is not acceptable to the majority of the MEC???? Let your reps know where YOU stand! |

Who exactly are you referencing when you say "the union."

Hoping it will be different under JM, but I don't think he could sway some of the current MEC members anyway. |
