I guess my question to the peanut gallery, is other than some legal representation every now and then that pans out, and some national good ALPA has helped honcho (KCM comes to mind) Nearly every Capt I've flown with over the 1.5 yrs bemoans their membership in ALPA. As near as I can tell, over the last decade plus, ALPA has overseen the continued degradation of the pilots contract ranging anywhere from benefits, QOL, and pay. It is but by the grace of the almighty and the fact management didnt see the types of profits we have now that profit sharing makes up for some of the incomes lost by those of you that sacrificed so much. I for one appreciate all that the pilot group gave up so I have a job today, but I cant for the life of me understand the nearly blind faith in an organization which has overseen the losses you have suffered and continue to suffer, without the serious consideration of replacing the union. If your medical Dr was to diagnose and treat you with the success of DALPA, most would shop for a different Dr.

Year 2016 / DAL profit margin around 19% / DAL profit around 8 Billion and the result is we need to give up jobs just to hit the pay rates in 2004. |

ALPA must go.........lather, rinse, REPEAT

I have to laugh (it's a sad laugh) after our history of pi$$ing away quality of life and being laughed at by management for over a decade when people say "I don't want to change horses midstream".
Then we end up with another concession laden TA that's pushed through. Everybody learns to work harder and distract themselves from the disappointment until the next contract when they don't want to change horses midstream. More DALPA insiders march off to national or are put on special committees sucking the FPL teet. Rinse, repeat. It's insane. |
Malone was no good the first time around.......so why is everyone surprised now? ALPA must go........
