Getting hired is awesome, but what are the odds the plug just happens to live in SEA? I'm not 100% certain about the new and unimproved new-hire seat lock, but if the poor guy moved his family to ATL to be a team-player then it's going to be a rough time until he/she can get out of SEA.
Also, plenty of people make the decision to commute in this business and at this company for various reasons and at various points. Ain't no thang for the right kind of people. Just comes with the gig.

By no means a bad gig...but lacking in the schedule control/guaranteed days-off-department unless one lives right there.
^^^^^Exactly. Not a bad gig if the plug lives in base. Even reserve wouldn't suck that bad on the ER when you're driving to work. Well done to the new guy and a hearty "Welcome!" Congratulations!

Yep.. I went the 717 route intentionally and have had weekends /holidays/ pick of trips for awhile now. My ER classmates are slowly seeing the light and switching to NB's.

If I new hire got it, he/or she can get used to a lot of London, Asia, and Hawaii. I've been to worse places.

I've been watching it for a while. SEA has the best trips in the ER category. I count only 5 domestic trips in the whole bid packet for February -- and they aren't bad trips at all.
