To get in the (Amex) Centurion Lounges you definitely need a boarding pass with a confirmed seat. Standby will not work - STRICTLY enforced.
Delta Clubs - depends on agent working the desk. Really, though, the "help" should not be seen in public. (kidding) |

Nope....I just went to the AMEX website aned applied for the Platinum Travel Card.
And I do like the SkyClubs. Comfortable seats, free wi-fi, lots of charging stations, decent light appetizers and soup, complimentary beer, wine and well cocktails. Nice change to the pilot lounges. And, I have been using them for several years and never once have had a problem presenting a NRSA seat request for entry with my Platinum card. |

Good to know. So as long as you go in with "normal clothes," with no badge, etc. should be OK? What about crew tags on bags?

Good question. I don't know b/c I don't have crew tags on my bag but I suspect you would be okay so long as you are in street clothes.
Definitely sounds like a good card to have if going in and out of hubs a lot. I should be transitioning to a JFK base shortly and it think it would be a nice perk to have moving forward! |
For the AMEX Platinum Card, I've heard the $450 annual fee is waived if you have a military ID but I can't find that in the AMEX literature.
Any ID holders get the fee waived? |

more complicated than that. if you are guard/reserve you have to be on a stretch of AD orders, they ask for a copy of orders. The ID card won't cut it anymore.

They don't ask for orders, but they verify in DEERS. It can be done pretty easily online on the AMEX website.
