Amex platinum. Worth it for commuters.

I pay for it and use it. For the record, I have a 100 percent success rate getting into Amex centurion lounges on nonrev passes and I have been to LGA, LAS, SEA, and DFW. I have also seen a delta guy in the Seattle lounge with his tie off and a north face jacket over his shirt. It's all about saying please. You pay the 450 a year for crying out loud.

Just a heads up, I (for the first time) caught some flak for entering the t4 sky club at JFK with a js request form. She said lately it's been a big issue with pilots coming in on work days and that we aren't allowed. I explained I am not working today, just going home, and she said ok well next time you need a regular boarding pass, and that lately they have been told to enforce this. I do this routine weekly on my commute so I'm hoping it's a one off thing. United did the same thing (I have a card for that too) that just went into effect, requiring a real boarding pass. The only recourse is to make a nonrev listing, print the boarding pass, and use that. That doesn't help me, though, since I'm a b6 guy currently.

Was this with the Amex card or the actual SkyClub card? It's been a year since I had the SkyClub card, but they never even asked for a boarding pass.

United has clarified that for employees with a membership or one-time pass, a standby boarding pass is acceptable. The bulletin doesn't specify if the boarding pass has to be for a UAL flight or not.

At JFK, T-4, I've had the checkin clerk ask me what flight I was going on. Mentioned a late flight, and that I was listed, not activated. She indicated I needed to be listed.
