White House Brefing question on NAI and ME3
Sean Spicer was just asked directly about unfair practices about NAI and also the middle east "big three" being subsidized by the state.
Apparently the President is going to meet with Airline executives and these issues are starting to get some traction.
I really didn't like his answer on NAI, although he did caveat it, he appeared to be familiar with the NAI talking points. He specifically stated something about NAI using 50% US crews and buying Boeing aircraft which he said was good for the US. I don't think Sean had any in-depth knowledge in this issue which I wouldn't really expect from at this point him anyway.
To me this exchange revealed a few good and bad things:
Good: President Trump set to meet with Airline industry folks.
The Administration is aware of the issues of NAI and the ME three.
Bad: NAI has obviously been successful in getting their talking points out.
Not sure what kind of success NAI will have in retaining US crews long term if the are not somewhat competitive in compensation. Then again not really sure that NAI would care about this.

Don't underestimate the ability for us to be our own worst enemy. Many, many pilots out there willing to work for "Z-scale" wages to fly a shiny 787. 😏

As well as getting embarrassed and called out to the point of lowering the price on the POS F-35 by 5 million per copy because of a single tweet. I wonder if the other side of that was an illusion where they stick it to us by continuing the last admin's rubber stamp of the agreement violating dual subsidized crowd.

Yup. Trump seems the be emphasizing manufacturing. It will be "pay to play by buying Boeing."
We'd be better off if the press conference went like this ...
