Best Fort Worth Mexican Food?
#13
Haven't spent a lot of time down there, but I'll second that the Papasito's that we ate at was excellent. Get the tableside Guacamole!
(Of course these days any decent Mexican is great in my book... not exactly a lot of high end Mexican or Tex Mex in Roanoke...)

If you're up for venturing over to the Big-D, there's an amazing place called Primos on McKinney Ave. http://www.primosdallas.com
Avg $15/plate. The Margarita's are AWESOME!
There's also this place called Mia's on Lemmon Ave, about 2 miles from Love Field. http://www.miastexmex.com. I ate there last weekend, and it was amazing! It's been voted by Texas Monthly to be one of the top 10 places to eat in Texas.

My wife and I used to live in the DFW area, we still miss the great Mexican & BBQ from Texas.
If you are in Fort Worth, go to Uncle Julio's. They have at least two locations in the Dallas area too. We loved their food better than anywhere else. The margaritas are great--just make sure you are ready have someone else drive.
Mi Cocina was nice too, they're all over the metroplex. Now regarding Joe T's....I wouldn't go back there if dinner was free. Yeah, I know, tastes are subjective. From what I recall, Joe T's menu had only a handful of items and they wouldn't deviate. It wasn't that good anyhow. They don't take credit cards, only cash. I'm sure the IRS loves them.....anyway, at least they did have a really nice atmosphere in the outside pool and garden.

When I was younger, Joe T.'s only had "dinner." You sat down and food appeared because that's all they served. Couple of tacos, enchiladas, rice and beans. The cashier would look over at your table and count up the beer bottles and ring you up.
El Fenix is a local family chain, must be 15 in town. One at the NW corner of DFW, closest to Love is probably east a few miles on Northwest Highway.
