Truth is there are plenty of great places to eat. The Okies just don't tell Texans where they are. That way they leave sooner.
Ok, Ok, you and USMCFlyer got me! I just thought this site needed a little more Texas/Oklahoma rivalry. To be honest, I have had a couple good meals in OKC - one in particular was at a steak place - real cattlemans type of place - had pictures of Presidents who had eaten there. They had excellent lamb fries and a great steak.

Also - for anyone going to OKC - if you have time, stop by the Murrah building memorial. They did an exceptional job with it and it is emotional. Thanksgiving may be a good time to visit and give thanks to the blessings that you and your family have.

Well, I have never even been to Oklahoma before so I'm of no help to you there. But I've been to a Furr's in Kansas when visiting the family farm. Its website says it's open on Thanksgiving Day. You sure you don't want to join the vagabond household instead?

Yeah, stayed at the $hithole Ramada across the street. The Holiday Inn was the closest bar for those of us that weren't into bull riding and country.

There's a Taco Bueno up the street....

Always an excellent idea.

Also a good idea. Get a hotel car or a cab, go eat at Furr's and look around downtown. Not far from the Murrah Memorial is this, in Campbell Park ...

Looks like we've got your day planned for you, dude.

Actually it is too bad that your airline doesn't put you up in the Sheraton downtown. That is where I use to work as the hotel airport shuttle driver among other things. I would take the aircrews out to dinner all the time, plus it would be close to the memorial. Also - since the renovation - Bricktown is the place to spend a day - or night.
