what to do in Houston
#2
Houston is a biiiig place and someone who is "currently 15 years old" should be careful wandering around in a strange city looking for a hotel and food. Will your parents be with you on this trip?
I have a friend who flies for SWA (apparently your favorite airline). I'll ask him to give you and your family a nice tour.

talk about a loaded question
Depends which airport and what you are looking for. There are 4-5 great country bars which offer cheap drink prices and and VERY nice ratio women to men. Food, El Tiempo Cantina is the best Mexican food. Only grew up and lived there for almost 30 years.

Your post says you'll be in downtown so hopefully you'll have access to a rental car.
Take a ride out to Johnson Space Center, definitely worth the visit. Also, go visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science, incredible.
Kemah Boardwalk is a fun place to spend the day as well.
If your looking for good eats you would have a hard pressed not to eat bbq and mexican. Just do a google search for top rated ones, though I doubt you'd find a very bad one.
Since your staying downtown, if your looking for nightlife go to midtown. Quick car/cab ride. Bar after bar after bar.
Stay away from the beaches in galveston, they are disgusting and a waste of time to visit, IMHO.
Houston is a big city with lots to do. I grew up there and still get back often and always have a good time.
The biggest downfall to Houston is the weather. Hot and humid, day or night.
