Strategic start date
#11
I currently have a CJO with 9E. I am eligible for the 1000 hour reduced minimums.
I want to start at the top of 2019 for the following reasons.
- my birthday sept, mother bday October, my sons bday nov, thanksgiving , December dads bday, Christmas and newyr.
I don’t wanna start training and not be able to focus while drinking from the “FIREHOSE”.
With the Cj200 currently backed up a couple of months would it make sense to start in October and if I get placed on the 200 then I would have a considerable break before IOE?
If this is a bad idea feel free to let me know!

I would also advise not trying to game the equipment/base award. You have no way to know what equipment/base will be available to your class.

Even though I am at PSA and not 9e. I echo what others are saying with seniority. If you can get on, go ahead and get on now. If I would have joint PSA 2 classes earlier, I would have been holding a line where I am at instead of sitting Reserve for a couple more months.
Get into class and get your seniority number. You'll thank the guys telling you this once you complete IOE.

Ok this is clearly an overstatement, As bad as I got the lubeless back alley jobbing, the entire Mesaba list was about 1100 when the sale was announced.... I was about as worst case numbers wise ( not necessarily DOH, but close, and I would have at best shifted 500, probably more like 400.)
Look at june 01 at the time and tell me again it’s an overstatement.
My buddy got on at 9E one month before I was hired and he was 720 numbers ahead of me after integration.

Damn, yup I guess you are right...I was about 500 behind my counterparts hired at Pinnacle the same time as I was. I know the 01-05 Mesaba were the worst of the group, but thought it was relatively balanced in the screwing there... The front got it a little worse in the seniority but at least got off reserve in the deal, the back didn't take as much a numbers hit but took years of extra reserve (and a downgrade) screwing (and thus pay screwing too)
