Wrong - there is no preference for propel, they don’t even have any propel candidates at a 121/135 operator yet.

You will not fly and will spend a lot of time in the basement of LGA and JFK. I do not think growth is coming but either way it will be dictated by the new Delta pilot’s contract and the fact the economy may tank.

Merry Christmas to you, too?

Won’t be long. The target group is college juniors and seniors who already have their private at a minimum. Some of these kids will finish school in the spring with all 1000 hours...

They still have no HR preference and even if they did, their numbers are nothing you or any other pilot should lose any sleep over.
It’s not going great - but what would you expect when you give the DL pilot interview to FA or junior college student with a private/ instrument?

They selected a few into Propel who already had their 1000 hours and were already hired by a DCI carrier. These are the tiny minority but they will be in indoc classes very soon.

What’s “not going great?”

Single digit success rate for a triple digit application rate.

A few points for perspective.

1. If you’ve got these numbers I say pony them up. The universities haven’t even been told their stats and yet somehow you know? PM me if you prefer.

2. It’s the first semester. Everything is brand new so the program can’t be judged on a percentage pass rate but rather if Delta is able to select the number of people it wants for the program. They’ve stated internally and upfront that the numbers would be low in the first semester. By that measure they’ve met their goals. Over time time they will increase the number of students they accept into the program.

3. The Delta and Propel interviews are tough. The latter can be adjusted at their discretion if they aren’t meeting their goals. Everything is constantly analyzed to see if anything needs to change.

4. As word gets out about the testing and HR interviews, things will shore up. This is no different than the gouges out there for the Delta interview.

In the end, it’s unfair to make these judgments without knowing the full story and immediately after the first semester. The program will grow, including more schools, in the years to come.

I can't figure out what propel is?

You interview with delta with a private pilots license and go to a regional a year or two later?

Do they interview again? I don't..
