- how much growth will we see in ATL over this and the next couple realignments?
- will SkyWest get 700/900 flying in ATL?

- beats me. It could continue on track to be 2-3 years but I’d bet there will be a couple 98xxx in the mix. Let’s hope some new guys can get it. I’d bet on late 97xxx early 98xxx getting it. Which is about 2.5 years. That’s my guess.

Over the last few weeks there's been a handful of OO 900's operating in and out of ATL, on top of the 700 ASE flying.

I wonder how many points Delta assigns to the panel for guys that wear the hat and do Podium and galley announcements?

You know its in a matrix somewhere.

It’s up to the Delta guy with the clipboard, the one recording how often you do it. The same one who logs how much you use the APU. So when they do their formula they can see how many minutes of use you save by shutting the APU on quick turns. They use that number and make a multiplier for hat/podium points.

Don't forget single engine taxi. Gotta pad their profit sharing.

The hat isn’t everything; you have to dress for the job you *want.* That means Delta Air Lines lanyards, tie tacks, pins, and luggage tags, too. It doesn’t matter that you don’t actually work for Delta, make Delta money, or get much respect from their pilot group or management... or customers... or investors... or even your coworkers. You’re doing it for *you!*

Probably not as badly as Skywest wants ATL200 flying...

We may be the gold standard, but skywest is the golden child.

I’m thinking the company is just going to either deadhead NYC crews down to ATL or have them flow there somehow. NYC 200 is grossly overstaffed and no takers on the TOWOP.

My entire pairing at the beginning of the month was out of ATL, except the first and last leg, and I am NYC based.

ATL based crews are doing the CVG flying.

DTW and MSP 900 have been doing those kind of pairings in and out of NYC for a couple years now.:mad:

Yea they should steamline things by reducing the MSP staffing and giving that flying to NYC

That solution would poop all over every pilot on property. By far the most senior base being closed would create a cascading displacement that would be about as ugly as could be. It's probably why CVG has become a 100+ rooms a night "outstation" rather than a large crew base at the expense of closing MSP and DTW. The consolidation of bases isn't worth the trouble it'd cause.

So then maintaining the MSP base and flying through New York ain't as bad?

Yes. The MSP-based pilots stay based in MSP because they don't want to commute. They're also super senior.

Close MSP, and those pilots will displace everyone in DTW. Those DTW pilots will displace folks in ATL and NYC. Everyone's QOL steps back significantly. The MSP pilots will have to commute, and everyone else will lose relative seniority within their base.

I vote for new bases in Denver and Vegas, but I just get one vote...:rolleyes:

The solution is to move the pest to NYC more, but we all know that isn't going to happen.

Actually... my money is on that happening. They have 170s. We don't.

Imagine how many "unwitting" cross-bleed starts happen during the winter. APU is running... A/ICE is on... must happen every day.
