This reminds me of the JCBA... Pinnacle and Colgan were jumping up and down about the "better" pay rates except they were the bankruptcy concessionary rates that Mesaba had... oh and then there was that nasty detail that the Pinnacle FO's were actually taking a pay cut after factoring in the medical benefits changes.

Yup, that sounds about right.

I know it seems like a small thing to get hung up on, but it's just an example of a larger principle that is significant, and could be used to shoot ourselves in the foot later about bigger issues.

I agree with you. But the union reps are the ones that people need to direct this displeasure to. It was a hot topic right after the removal of the position space upgrades. Then it seemed to quiet down. Even now there is little to none in regards to communication from the union regarding the new positive upgrade codes.

Lol. Yea. You make an excellent point.

I've got way more important things in my life to get riled up about than this. We wanted it back. It's back. Is it as good? I have no idea. I'll survive.

We negotiated 100% DH pay for things the company really wanted, they didn't just give it to us because they felt nice and we didn't just have 100% unilaterally taken away back to 50% and now they "to be nice" gave us 75%

Quiet. Haha. There I correct myself too.

Wow, you mean everything is a negotiation? Things are better industry wide. Sitting in a comfort seat or the lav seat for a 1 hour DH doesn't really rank that high on my radar. They weren't contractually required to do this, but they did.

I didn't even notice on my dozen or so DH's this year. Was it frustrating when I would've got a better seat as a non-rev then I would've as a DH? Sure. But come on.... I put on my headphones and took a nap. I've got bigger fish to fry...

Exactly. But life hacks are all a function of human relativity. Us seasoned cadre know the difference. the youngsters don't. But I have a sneaking suspicion that in short order, they too will learn the importance of how little we are. Cyclical proclivity has a strange way of entering unannounced. Stagnation, macroeconomic factors, bankruptcies, to name a few...I can almost see actual proverbial tears in their faces.
