Delta doesn’t need DALPA’s permission to give more cash retention or higher pay rates to 9E . Albeit it wouldn’t make mainline Union too happy , but just like they didn’t need an agreement with DALPA to do the initial retention. They do need DALPA agreement to do seniority or any kind of merge . But if Delta wanted to pay us AA WO rates they could without DALPA .

Plus how many “lifers” who by-passed flow took the bonus. They were staying anyway, the bonus only put money in the pockets of those who were staying anyway, more or less. Not that there’s anything wrong with that

The only pilots that the bonus doesn't help are those who are on the fence, collect the bonus, and then spend it. Otherwise, it's free money for lifers and captains flowing soon, and it's a nice insurance policy if things go to hell again and the hiring circus stops. Just don't spend it right away.
