So within the last few classes that went through, everyone that actually bid for CVG over NYC, got it. Not many are bidding CVG because it's a harder commute for most. Granted this is a small sample size and only 1 or 2 (out of the 8-12ish) wanted CVG over NYC, it's still very possible.

Understood. It’s confusing to me to why would anyone bid for nyc over cvg as a base? Especially if you’re intention is to move to the base you’re assigned. Is there any reason why CVG is not a good base to pick? Or is It only because it’s a harder commute than nyc? Also what’s the average wait time to be able to transfer to ATL? Thanks.

CVG is a MX base so all the trips are uncommutable. It’s also not a hub so there isn’t an early morning flight from most places getting you there for P2 reserve or a later report.

So only negative of cvg is that its not commutable? But if you live in base is there any other reason why cvg would be a bad base? My intention is to move to whichever base I get assigned. No way I’m commuting.

CVG would be an awesome base if you lived there, and Cincinnati/Covington is actually a pretty cool town.

Second this on both fronts. It's an easy airport, and the staff there are ridiculously senior, so they're good at what they do.

I always love the new guy “I’ll never commute” attitude. It’s a value proposition. There’s a reason thousands of pilots do it. I did it for years and now I live in base because the value proposition shifted for me. But commuting allows people to live around family and friends, on beaches, in mountains, on islands, places they love. This is one of the only jobs on earth where you can live wherever you want and spend your off time loving where you live. Not saying don’t move if you’re young and agile. But moving to a regional base just to avoid commuting is silly.

The Atlanta base for Endeavor seems to be shrinking and getting increasingly more senior, so I'd say it's going to be a while...

What are the junior bases right now for DEC? Is CVG realistic for junior CAs?

The last vacancy is showing only NYC available for DEC at this point.

MSP and ATL are the most senior, CVG is probably achievable in a reasonable amount of time, no guarantee of course.
