COLA again...

UAW just got a fat 33% COLA. It seems to be a one time increase like we had but at least they call it COLA so the workers know it's gonna disappear.
Every time I bring this up all I hear back is "gee, that's really hard", but watching 20% or more of every pay raise we get just eaten right up by inflation has become tedious. Can we at least make an effort to include COLA adjustments in our next round of negotiations? We just need contract language that says something like "a monthly adjustment will be added based on the Federal governments published inflation number where that number is higher". Like PER DIEM, but for inflation...

To summarize: the company has no interest in COLA, because they know the challenging of retaining pilots with pay is transitory. On the other hand, the 9E MEC is not competent enough nor do they have the leverage to negotiate anything close to that.
Get your apps out and get to a major airline. You will notice an immediate difference.
