Default Stupid Question: What is COLA?

I see COLA at the top of just a few company payscale profiles on here. I'm nearly positive that this means "company offered leave of absence," but looking for confirmation.

Also, if you make it to this point on the seniority list, what happens with COLA? Can you just take leave whenever you want? What about pay?

Company Offered Leave of Absence

Or Cost of Living Adjustment, unfortunately the 1st one is more likely used now a days.

I would imagine every company is different, no pay, you keep the bennies though and the term of it, is airline specific, depending on their need.........
