Default Endeavor and other decisions

Hi guys,

I am currently finishing up my hours and in the next few months will have to make a decision on where to go.

Right now my options in no particular order are:

Expressjet
Gojet
Tsa
Republic

Have not yet went to Skywest and can't figure out what is happening at envoy.

Now, I don't know much about endeavor. Any thoughts on the airline? Would commuting be worth it for the 20k retention bonus? I currently live in Chicago. Would that be a tough commute?

Any information would be great. Hoping to be based in Chicago, but that extra money and a commute to MSP may not be to bad? Maybe I am just delusional and to new to the industry to understand it.

Thanks a lot!

Take the home base and enjoy it while it lasts.

Home basing is huge...take it if you can get it. Since you still have a few months to go keep an eye on RAH. If we get a decent contract it may become an ok place to spend a few years. I would advise you to stay away if there is no new contract though.

SkyWest has an ORD base and it is very junior. You would definitely be able to get it out of training. It's a good company and ORD seems to be growing....

Exactly. Living in base is HUGE.

SKW would be a good option for ORD. Its also a junior CA base. So in 3 years down the road your not forced to commute for a upgrade..

Skywest is definitely near the top of my list. Any idea of how long reserve would be and or upgrading? Those seem like the two cons everyone mentions

It's really all a guess. There are way too many variables, and the future of this segment of the industry is way to vague to make any accurate guesses.

What isn't a guess is that commuting to reserve blows. Nothing like burning money on a crashpad so you can sit around and wait for the phone to ring.

I would suggest that you talk to anybody about how their life is like on reserve. While SkyWest line holder life is somewhat tolerable, SkyWest reserve is a cruel hell.

There are many FOs that have delayed upgrade just to avoid reserve, and many that have gotten out of this jacked up industry just because they were on reserve at SkyWest.

I would choose carefully.

Good luck!
