Quick thread diversion. Gonna travel with my young kids. Thoughts on getting through security strategy. Uniform/no uniform? Do they hassle you for going through the normal line with all your liquids? I know I can't do KCM or Pre-Check with them.

Taking a gamble out of uniform and having larger liquids. Are you traveling with your spouse? Can they take them through normal security and you go through KCM? If not, I'd say just go civies and conform to the norm
I guess I worded it a little poorly. Traveling with wife and kids. I will wear the uniform if I drag my bag onboard. I've been hassled before, "Why don't you go through precheck?" |

If you are non-revving on Delta, you and family should be pre-check automatically (check your boarding pass ASAP). So pre-check rules apply. In order to get thru with bigger liquids, you will have to be in uniform and go thru KCM without the family. Otherwise, you are just another non-rev passenger like your family.

Lastly, if you're randomly selected and go through a KCM screening area then out of uniform crew members still get exemptions. |
True. When I was saying "go thru with bigger liquids", I was thinking of outstations; if you are out of uniform, even with KCM or company ID, you are a regular passenger, and subject to normal liquid sizes.
KCM, whether in or out of uniform, is the same. But I have been given no grief when in uniform, and have had to leave stuff when not in uniform, when not in a KCM airport. YMMV

With respect to your "to get thru with bigger liquids" comment, that's not fully accurate. You can go through KCM out of uniform with any liquids you would normally carry if in uniform. However, if randomly selected for additional screening, and sent to a regular passenger screening area, that is when you're subjected to normal screening quantities if out of uniform and, thus, do not get exemptions.

I always get pre-check when I non-rev. Thought it was the norm.
