I wear pants and shirts from a cut above. They only have a webstore and their stuff is a touch more expensive than the stuff in the stop over store but it is worth every penny. They are super comfortable and last a long time. Great customer service as well.

I would not recommend the pants and shirts from M&H that they "make" you buy during training. Yes they pay for half, but tbh, I hate the shirts and pants so much I never wear them. Serious waste of money. Crew outfitters has a line of shirts just as nice as a cut above (I have both) but they are slightly cheaper and you can use your uniform allowance. As for pants, get nice lookalikes that you're comfortable in. I get mine at Belks or Dillard's

I made the mistake of falling into the M&H trap. I recommend all new hires to get a shirt, a pair of pants, and the blazer from M&H just so you have a set of gear and you know what size of uniform you wear. Buy everything else outside of M&H.

Just a note if you do get a cut above, they tend to run a little smaller from my experience. Maybe try a half size larger than you normally where. That's just my experience though.

And the stopover store people will tell you that acutabove is actually a rip off of their top of the line brand, the guy who makes the cutabove brand designed the stopover store line then left to start his own company. They're virtually identical, down to the neck pad, but free shipping with stopover and uniform allowance friendly

Thanks for the info on the class I medical. Heard good things about A Cut Above as well, and Clarity Aloft Pro Plus. The DC Pro-X are good too but you still have to deal with "headset head."

I recently went on a test run where I bought every professional tso headset I could find and tested them all out of different trips.

End the end I went with the DC pro. Here's my takeaways if anyone is interested.

Bose- very comfortable, excellent noise attenuation. Too expensive, and as some guys will tell you, mic boom is crazy sensitive, much more than other headsets, so you're piping in a lot more ambient hot mic noise than usual. Pain for the other guy.

Lighstpeed PFX - crazy nice headset, enjoyed much more than Bose because of its customization and the super strong braided cables. These will stand up. But just can't justify the cost, and the control unit is MASSIVE. The headset ourself is just too bully also. (Same goes for the zulu, tried it too) both of these the mic boom drops on the left and is not reversible. Sucks for FO's. Have to drape the cable across your body.

Clarity Aloft Pro - (actually tried the regular also). This was a tough one. There is not a lighter, smaller headset in the existence. If you wear thick glasses these may be for you. In the end, I didn't like them for a couple reasons. The band that goes over your ears is super small and really wears on them. The boom is on the left, and not reversible so you're draping the cable across your body, and I just couldn't stand wearing earplugs all day long. The sound quality is decent but because you're wearing earplugs you're always hearing your own loud muffled voice. They also get pulled off crazy easily because of their weight.

Dc pro-x - I ended up staying with these because of the reversible mic boom, great battery life (1-2 months on lithium), very good noise attenuation (about as good as the Sierra's). Not as clamped down as normal DC's, easy to store quickly, and good Bluetooth (which no one ever uses). After a long day your ears start to feel them a little because they're on ear, but tbh they have less clamping force than my Bose on ear headphones.

Thanks, this information is very helpful. I currently use a Bose QC2 with the U-fly mike. It's about 10 years old, and I'm thinking I'll need to replace it soon. I really don't want to go that route again.

What about the new QC25 and UFlyMike Harmony? I know they are still working on the TSO but any experience?

Ordered the Harmony. Wore it for an entire trip and was mad after leg 1. The quality has gone down hill since the original, the mic doesn't stay in place, the connector had a flaw where it would not seat fully so you would lose audio in one ear or both at times (allegedly that has been corrected), and they are also very behind on production/shipping.

I sent mine back for a full refund. They screwed the pooch on the harmony in a blatant effort to maximize profits while reducing cost. The original UFlyMike was built like a tank, the harmony however is a piece of cheap Chinese mass manufacturing that won't last 6 months under heavy use.

Your mileage may vary but I was not happy with the harmony at all.

Rumor time? I heard all 200s are going to ATL.

Let's just quit with the rumors.
