There was nothing in OT/TB on such short notice besides out of base high speeds and similar. Except one sweet trip that the system denied me due to exceeding max duty on one of the days (different domicile time). So I chose the 150% AVL. They actually said I have 24 hours to choose, so there's no need to try to look stuff up before answering. (I couldn't find any of this in the contract, so this is on CS's word.)

Leave the buddy bidding to those of us that don't want to work! I'm getting nervous, I have a trip starting tomorrow at 1 with a LCA and they haven't called me yet.

Recent notices have been on an almost exact 2 month schedule; so based on that, I'm extrapolating an approximate July 5 posting and July 19 close.

Copy that. So non-vested is lost. That’s understood. When I rolled over my money, I got no bill of any sort. I know when I retire, the initial rollover amount as reported to IRS will be taxed at my applicable rate. That’s understood. But that money, since rolled into an IRA has been invested many times over and has produced a lot more value in gains and dividends which in an IRA are not taxable.

So let’s say I rolled over that 10k and will await the 2500 tax bill. That 10k has multiplied a few times over in my IRA and all I have to pay is that measly 2500. Sold.

The IRS doesn't send you a tax bill when converting a tax-exempt fund to a taxable one. You are supposed to claim the conversion on your taxes, at which time the $2500 alluded to becomes your duty.

I'm sure you know that, just throwing it out there for others who are not as savvy.

Also, when leaving a company, I think it is better to convert to a private fund vs. rolling over into the new company's fund, because your private fund is usable prior to retirement, whereas a company fund cannot be used without major hassles and penalties. You take away the employer/fund manager control when you convert to a private investment vehicle.

Are we still going to be ahead of Delta flight attendants on our FA jump seat or are they going to bump on that like they do for a cabin seat?

I mostly just feel bad for the Delta pilots that are no longer going to get on the flight now that the FAs are going to be wanting the jump seat.

Yes, our metal, our seat.

I learned something today. I've always moved mine outside of former employers for additional fund choices, I had never considered the pre-retirement distribution angle. Evidently that's a function of plan design (meaning the employer can choose to let you make "in-service" withdrawls (after 59.5 but before you actually retire) ) I have no idea which plan design is more common but there's another good reason not to roll directly from old employer to new employer.

You don’t have to pick up all of the trip. Take what you can fly legally and I’m hoping to get bought off this weekend so I second the other guy on stop bidding lca if you need hours. Lol!

Yeah, I contacted the FO with an offer to split it, but it didn't work for him.

And OK, I owe a drink to you guys who're trying to get bought off. If I get the upgrade you can buddy bid me and mention the thread to claim it ;)
