We are being speculative based on what we see on deltanet.

west coast

I am not one to spread rumors, but I heard from two different people at 9E that the company was also looking at a West Coast base. Separately from this, I heard from a friend who interviewed at Compass recently that Delta is taking away all their E170s.

Anyone care to comment? I have heard no speculation on this in APC thus far.

Yes, Compass is losing all of their 170's, all 6 of them. Delta is moving them to Republic. Compass flies 36 175's for Delta, they're going no where.

That is no secret. Their 6 170s are going to republic but that's the first I've heard of a west coast base. I honestly don't see it happening at least IMO

I can add to the west coast ordeal. My source told me months ago that this was in discussion but only lasted a short while and was quickly expunged. They said they looked in to Santa Ana as a potential domicile if Skywest was going to have staffing issues. Apparently Skywest is having no such problem nor indicated they would, and so west coast was wiped clean off the agenda table. Wasn't seen on here due to the quickness of the ordeal.

OK, thanks. Guess that puts to rest any LAX base speculation.

Well, you kind of just did, buddy. The West Coast rumor has been bouncing around for as long as I've been here (granted not very long)...and before joining, my recruiter buddy said management had talked about it with the addition of their 170/175 fleet type.

I'd say once the 170s come on property, we can start talking about a SNA/LAX base. Until then, to quote the great Tupac, our pilots be like:

"California dreaming / Soon as I stepped on the scene, I'm hearing hoochies screaming / Let me serenade the streets of L.A...
From Oakland to Sacktown
The Bay Area and back down
Cali is where they put they mack down
Give me love!"

Yeah, dont read too much into my comment. I'm not in the know, nor have I looked at Deltanet on that matter yet. There are just certain things *I've observed* that point to a southeast base coming and 200s in NYC at least shrinking.

R.G. and R.E. as well as others have said multiple times that they want New York to be all dual class airplanes. The also prefer one's with a first class lav. So even the 700 isn't desired for that market. Along with that it has been mentioned that the 200's would be phased out in 2017. I think Delta's hand was forced with the Republic bankruptcy in that they were shedding all the E145s. The 200's were brought in to keep the feed going until they start receiving their airframes

Well I'm not sure if I'd make such a bold statement? Word on the street is that Delta isn't very happy with Compass right now. Their performance metrics are in the toilet. Compass blames it on MX issues caused from their aging aircraft and the LA market in general as being a tough market to attain good performance metrics. I don't know whether or not their performance metrics are bad enough to break their contract or not? But sooner or later that contract will need to be renegotiated. If things don't change I don't think they will extend it. But what do I know, I didn't think Delta would extend the GoJet flying either. I'm not saying Endeavor would get any of the Compass 175's either. In fact Delta seems very happy with SkyWest's west coast operations.
