Waiting for Sims...

I've been waiting to finish my LOE for ten weeks now, it was cancelled because a instructor called in sick. I can't get any information out of the training schedulers. They won't answer their phones or return my calls. Would love to know if anyone out there has any idea what's going on.

wiz5422 08-21-2017 09:29 AM

Enjoy the vacation.......

Yeah, it's like a dream come true! I'd stop trying to reach them lol. By the time they figure it out, maybe you can already have a flow date 🤣

PerfInit 08-21-2017 09:53 AM

Hopefully not much longer, so you don't have to go back in the box for a refresh...

MD-11Loader 08-21-2017 10:56 AM

You're almost halfway through probation! Congrats, you're doing great!!

Aren't you still getting paid? Then be patient.

I'm being very patient. I'm not complaining, just looking for information.

It doesnt surprise me a bit with the high turnover they have between schedulers and wet behind the ears sim checkairmans.

Dude, you're getting a free vacation. Paid too. That's what's going on. Don't think they've forgotten about you, they're paying you to sit at home.

You also have non-rev benefits. I hear New Zealand is really nice this time of year....

Yeah, or maybe he likes frozen sheep :D anyways hope Envoy is not turning into another Piedmont with the lenghty training delays.

Have you tried calling Mgmt. If scheduling won't return your call, it's warranted. Their numbers can be found at My Envoy Air/Training/Training Contacts. Start with Scheduling or Flight Delivery.

First off, wrong, AA DOES fly to NZ (do YOU even work here?), and secondly it was merely an example of how he could use bennies instead of sitting around worrying. I don't care where he goes - Auckland was the most far-off place I could think of at 12:30 AM. By the way, it's 60°F in Auckland today... that's pretty freakin' nice compared to the 90+s I've been experiencing the last couple weeks...

Know a good time when it sits on your face

Lets see 2 options here
A)
Finish trg asap
Go on reserve
Work and get paid
B)
Be in trg
Have a paid vacation
Be paid more including per diem per day
Travel, chill, relax
Possibly no reserve by the time you finish trg

If i were you id stop calling those schedulers.

Machwon 08-24-2017 12:24 PM

For everyone who thinks this guy can jump on an AA flight to NZ please go to the non rev planner and tell me the flight number of this flight.

Bigpimppilot 08-24-2017 02:09 PM

It doesn't matter. I know a new hire that took 9 months from start of class to finish ioe. Good for him. He spent more time in Europe than the training center. He won big time. Instant weekends off line holder.

AA 83 in October goes to AKL. Don't know if it's seasonal or if that's when they are starting it, but AA definitely serves Auckland.

But the point is to try to enjoy the time off, in 5 years you'll be craving a month away from this place. Stay on top of studying, but try to enjoy it as much as you can.

I think it's seasonal. They've been doing it at least this year and last year.

This is by far the hardest part and because of this, I can relate to someone that is concerned. I had three weeks between MV and QLOE. I taped up my cockpit posters on the wall with the intent of practicing flows daily to stay current. I sat down ONCE to do it and only got half way through. I was soooo burnt out on training by that point I was almost ill at the thought of doing anything.

But otherwise, yeah... enjoy the paid vacation and the travel benefits as much as you can.

erjemb 08-24-2017 06:03 PM

It's vacation time until LOE time arrives after a long break. You almost need to restart your sim lesson 1 to be where you need to be.

Machwon 08-24-2017 07:31 PM

So what you are saying is as of 8/22/2017 he in fact could not take a trip to NZ? Hence AA DOES NOT offer any flights to NZ right now ! Might want to take a trip AA is currently flying to and maybe one that isn't in their winter season . 😂

Pedro4President 08-25-2017 02:47 AM

Has Envoy evacuated the Houston SIM due to Hurricane Harvey? More delays.....

Seriously dude, research really isn't hard.
American Aug/Sep 2017 Auckland suspensions :: Routesonline
"American Airlines during Sunday (16APR17) routine schedule update adjusted planned Los Angeles – Auckland service in Northern summer 2017 season. The oneWorld member will temporary suspend this service from 05AUG17 to 04OCT17 (LAX departure). Reported in previous post, the airline will resume this service from 05OCT17 with Boeing 787-9 aircraft, instead of -8."

So yes, you're right, he can't go tomorrow, but you're missing the point. He could go anywhere he wants. I threw Auckland out there as a mere example of somewhere he could jet off to instead of worrying about his LOE. Honestly, when I made the statement, I pulled a random city out of my mind. You instead, took it way too literally and made the argument about the destination instead of the point of "Go somewhere. Use your benefits." But, since you're so damned focused on the point that AA isn't flying to NZ tomorrow, you've completely diverted the point of my post on a tangent that really doesn't make one bit of difference.

I was just trolling ya. Guess I was board that night, but ya you're right get out there and travel while you can . Once you hit the line it'll be a different story!

If you were trolling me, I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Good job!

If Envoy has anything, we definitely have the best non-rev benefits in the regional industry.

Bigpimppilot 08-25-2017 06:06 AM

Your last sentence is my forum pet peeve. I hate when people do that.

Clarification: you are not guilty of getting on my nerves the other guy is.

Does anyone know what the current (within the last few weeks) wait is for IOE?

How many hours are required during IOE and how many trips is it normally?

Less than a week wait for IOE on the 145.

25 hours is the minimum.

Typically you get a 4 day, a few days off, followed by a 2 day.

Thanks for the information. How about qualified upgrades on the 145?

Same. Need at least 25 hours. A line check and a Fed ride.

That is incorrect. QUG only need 10 hours of IOE in addition to the line check/fed ride.
