Had an in depth conversation with an Envoy chief trainer earlier this year while I was catching a ride on Envoy metal early one morning.
It is consistent with what has been stated.
1. Envoy will continue to take delivery of 175s to replace all of the CRJs and some of the 140/145s.
2. The CRJs all go to PSA. PSA will remain all CRJs.
3. Piedmont will take as many 145s as they can handle. They will get rid of all their Dashes.
4. Envoy will replace the 145s where 175s make sense. Some routes are too thin to support 175s.
5. This will take until the end of 2018 to all take place.
6. The intent (at least for now) is for all 3 W.O.s to be operated as separate entities.
7. AA would like all 3 to grow, taking on more RJs routes served by other regionals.
Of course things can change, but it made sense, and he was certainly in the know.

It seems to me that things are pretty much moving that direction. AA has been seemingly consistent with following through on what they say their plans are over the past few years. I see no reason why they would be putting out this info and not following through. All of the AA WOs are hiring and all will increase pay in 2018 to compete for new hires. I see no real reason any of this won’t happen barring some outside event.

*I just wanted to see what it feels like to be a douche. I didn't like it.

To shed some light, the transfer of your 700s to PSA has not been stopped. According to our management AA wants the transfer to continue at 1 /month until PSA can handle 2 /month. The airline is actually currently pretty fat on pilots, the issue is Mx personnel. Word has it they are close to a TA with Mx and AA has told our management to “get it done ASAP”.

Yea it was a crazy summer with short-staffed Mx. One Mx guy told me recently that PSA experienced almost 30% turnover with mechanics so far in 2017. That’s crazy...
