RE:The Ridle Attitude

I have several buddies that gave me crap for not taking all my flight courses at ERAU. I could not afford it and it took forever due to the ineptitude of the flight program. The flight program seemed to only let students fly if the weather was perfect and it took forever to get a license there. I hated the prevalent cocky attitude there but attitudes like that always come back to bite one in the butt. I later flight instructed with many of those same people and they did not know crap about pt 61 and were afraid to fly in any type of weather. I have to give credit to the post above about getting experience at the Airline before upgrading. It is called a healthy respect for the responsibilities at hand. That Riddle attitude is a cancer and they still believe there is a pilot shortage. It is a ERAU marketing ploy. I do have to give credit to many of my professors there because the academic portion was great, the flight portion of it was screwed up in many ways with a lot of inbreeding that just wanted to make me puke.

Riddlers (those who actually went brick and mortar) are some of the cockiest SOBs I've ever had the displeasure to fly with. I'm not really sure where the attitude comes from. Stick and rudder wise they are no better or worse than any other background.

Well you asked so I'll tell you. Because that school only attracts one kind of person. they're actually nerds. But not like those innocent nerds you think of, these are nerds that have been told they're better than anyone else because they're paying 100k for an education. They're entitled nerds. Worst is the female didlers, good luck with that. Not only does the above apply for them but with the high guy to girl ratio there they're beyond hope of being humble.

I’m sure it’s way more than 100k. Any difference between the two brick and mortar campuses

Re:Riddle

I would not label all of then nerds. There are many probably half of students there are prior military that finish college work after attending extended campus around the world. These guys and ladies are a different breed than the puke that has mom and dad pay for school.

Agreed. I’ve taken worldwide courses online myself - I was referring to alumni who were denizens of the actual campuses and feel royally entitled to something.
