And keep in mind that DFW is very senior and will take awhile to hold as an FO. And depending on how much of the required 1,000 hrs of 121 time to upgrade that you have, you may get displaced to a CA slot in LGA or elsewhere before you even have a chance to hold DFW as an FO. Lots of guys waiting to get back to DFW.

How long is the wait, are we talking a year or months?

What’s the best way to move around a couple days during the month? Say I have a RSV block 12th - 15th and I want to take off the 14th and 15th. Is emailing swaps and drops the best way? If so, when do I email them? Do I provide them some alternatives during the month that I can work instead? I know I can trade days with other pilots too but how do I find those guys?

RF100 SWAP. Good luck. They’re not so generous on the swaps these days.

There are also a couple of facebook groups you can join to help you find guys. American Eagle Pilots Reserve Line Holders Trade Group- not very active and I haven't seen much success. If you are ORD based, EnvoyORDPilots is a lot more active. They probably have them for other bases.

Email swaps and drops and request those days to be traded with different days. Say I want the 14 and 15 off. I am willing to trade these days. Specify if you want all or nothing or if you are willing to just get one. Then repeat EVERY day.

If you proffer stand by 1 or 2 for the next day but you dont confirm after 5pm, will they always call at midnight to confirm ? If so would this retart your 10 hour rest period putting you automatically on rap 2?

No, I've had them change my reserve to RAP 1 because I didn't confirm.

If you’re pre assigned RAP1 you’ll default back to RAP1. If not you’ll be put into 10 hours and get RAP2
