Default Regional to International

Hello Everyone,

I currently have my CFI, and envoy is one of my main options.

my question is that after I (hopefully) work and for a few years with envoy for example, am I able to move onto an international airline like Etihad or Emirates? Or will i be stuck in American as envoy is their carrier?

Thank You!

You can apply to anyone you want, it is not contractual

I don't think anyone on this forum would recommend envoy to a new hire right now

Why don’t you go to Republic? Better pay/QOL and only 170/175s...

I'm still looking into different alternatives. I am focusing on the airlines with the fastest upgrades and decent pay.

Almost all regionals have fast upgrades right now, and Envoy definitely isn't the place for good pay. PSA, Endeavor, Skywest, Republic all have better pay.

Your world is your oyster. You can go wherever you want. Plan it out, work to make it work, and wait patiently...

I have seen people leave Etihad, southern, and other long haul companies for a regional in the US. I have also seen people leave a regional to work at etihad, atlas, southern, China express, etc... I have seen teachers, nurses, career change to pilot. And people career change from pilot to teacher, police, nurse, etc... look into your self. Your values, lifestyle, goals. Do you want a family, do you want to stay single? Where do you want to live, religion, politics, etc...

If you want to work outside the USA employers usually either want time on type or jet time on aircraft over 20 or 40 thousand kilograms.

Scoot, Eva or ANA just want multi crew jet time but Emirates/Korean require boeing or bus time.

I’m sure not looking forward to managing the type of FOs who will come here over PSA right now.
